Common mistakes
Reading a Hechrachi chart as Siduri
If shin shows 300, you are on Hechrachi. Siduri’s shin is 21. Wrong chart → wrong total.
Expecting finals to jump to 500–900
That is Mispar Gadol. Siduri keeps finals on the base letter’s 1–22 index.

Frequently asked questions
What is Mispar Siduri?
Mispar Siduri (ordinal) numbers Hebrew letters by their order: aleph=1 through tav=22. Final forms use the same index as their standard letter. How is Siduri different from Mispar Hechrachi?
Hechrachi uses place values 1–9, 10–90, 100–400. Siduri uses 1–22. Shin is 300 in Hechrachi and 21 in Siduri. Why can חי be 18 in both systems?
Het is 8th and yod is 10th, so Siduri is 8+10=18. Hechrachi also uses 8 and 10 for those letters — same arithmetic for this pair, not a general rule.Is this the same as English Ordinal?
Only in spirit: both use letter position. English Ordinal is A–Z 1–26. Siduri is Hebrew aleph–tav 1–22. Different alphabets.Where do I find Gadol and advanced methods?
Mispar Gadol has its own calculator. AtBash, AlBam, and Mispar Katan are on Advanced Gematria Methods. The Hebrew calculator page gathers the full suite.
